Hi, my name is Stacy, I am a certified STOTT PILATES® instructor with the education and desire to enhance my client’s physical and total well being.

At Cadence and Core Pilates & Barre, you’ll receive one-on-one instruction in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. My objective is to design a total body workout that fits your physical needs and your fitness goals.

The Stott Pilates' method is a holistic approach to an acclaimed mind-body exercise system that is safe yet challenging for all fitness levels. My seventeen years of teaching Pilates to individual client's includes a wide variety of safe instructional Pilates therapy. Every body is unique and deserves appropriate postural analysis. My focus is always to address an individual's physical needs. Some of these special populations include Pilates clients' in their teens to spry eighties! They have a wide range of athletic abilities: Fishermen, golfers, equestrians, yoga students, walkers, dancers, snow skiers, and those who just love to move using proper form to stabilize on Pilates' apparatus, mat-work, or engage in Stott's safe total barre workout. My in-depth anatomy-based Pilates' certification prepares me to work with client's who need further post-rehabilitation guidance to address appropriate exercises for an old or new injury. Do you have scoliosis? Teaching Scoliotic clients' with different degrees of rotation is a specialty track I have studied since 2010. Scoliosis-Pilates' instruction helps reduce pain and dis-comfort by evaluating the best de-rotation exercises needed for each client's three dimensional rotations. My Pilates' skill-set teaches mindful movement principles that will help you achieve your training program goals! It's Pilates to the Core for building strength, flexibility, endurance, and balance!

Pilates Certification

After studying other Pilates methods starting in 1998, I found the Stott Pilates method in 2003. Stott’s contemporary approach to the Joseph Pilates exercise system offers the anatomy-based and in-depth Pilates certification program I was looking for. My training took place with trainers from Stott’s Toronto headquarters who travel to training centers in various cities. For two years, I focused on completing all of my certification requirements. Stott’s complete Pilates certification courses include beginning, intermediate, and advance course work in mat, reformer, Cadillac, stability chair, spine corrector, and the arch and ladder barrels. My studies include an Injury and Special Populations course that involves working with clients who have special physical issues, such as prenatal, breast surgery, obesity, older participants, scoliosis, and other rehabilitative needs. I am not a physical therapist. However, I welcome the opportunity to work with my client’s physical therapist or physician to address their specific needs and goals.

Health Education Background

In addition to Pilates, I received my Master’s Degree in 2003 from the University of Louisville’s School of Education in Health Promotion with a double major in Fitness and Community Wellness. As a health educator, I’ve taught both a fitness walking class at U of L and a UL undergraduate course on women’s health issues. Educating women about their health is a passion of mine. This course covered the social, economic, and political history of women’s health issues including alternative preventative modalities to enhance traditional medicines, diet, and the pros and cons of using synthetic versus bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. I believe in science-based reporting that involves a blend of traditional and natural therapies.

For over 40 years, I have studied and practiced the use of preventative and alternative therapies to maintain wellness. Through studying wellness principles, preparing, eating a macrobiotic/alkaline diet, and investigating science-based nutritional supplements, my focus is a preventative, proactive, and integrative (natural and traditional medicine) approach to achieving and maintaining a healthy body, mind, and spirit.
